BAA/OLA Update

As the New Year begins, an update on the 2022 BAA/OLA is needed. It is due to the great generosity of 475 families that the 2022 BAA goal of $154,763.38 was reached and exceeded to a total of $260,043 pledged. If you were one of the donors who have fully paid, Thank you! If you are a donor who is still making payments, thank you and please continue. If you are one of the 1,300 families that haven’t had a chance to participate yet, there is still time! As Father Joe said back in April of last year, “The Appeal is one way to share our blessings with our neighbors and to express our gratitude for all the blessings that our most loving God has bestowed on us!”

The funds raised over the BAA goal come back to the Parish (Diocesan Tax Free) as part of the Our Lady Appeal (OLA). For 2022, Fr. Joe stated and dedicated these funds to go towards two projects: A Master Planning Process and the updating of the Parish Life Center Kitchen.

At this time, the Bishop is still deliberating on the hiring of an architect to complete the Master Planning process, as there are many implications within the Real Presence, Real Future process. Once approval is received, it is hoped to begin quickly to help plan the next 5, 15, to 50 years.

The Life Center has been compared to a Living Room. It is a place we gather to learn together and to celebrate together. As with most gatherings, food can be a big part of these gatherings. While the kitchen has sufficed for many events, the kitchen did not allow the ability to prepare larger meals for events such as the Annual Knights of Columbus Fish Fry. With the funds raised in the OLA, new appliances have been purchased and installed in the kitchen. This includes a new 10-burner range, a double convection oven, a warming cabinet, as well as a commercial dishwasher. Metal shelving will be installed to increase storage for all those who use the kitchen as well. While these improvements help make the kitchen more usable, a part of this project is to purchase and use dishes, glasses, and silverware that will not only enhance how we eat, but also help reduce waste and decrease cost in reuse.

It is the hope that these projects help many individuals from students, staff, parishioners, and even the whole Grove City community. All of this though is due to your participation and generosity. Thank you for being a part of it and please participate in whatever way you can!
