To serve at the altar as an altar server is a privilege and a great source of grace. The altar server assists the priest during the Eucharist, other sacraments, and at non-sacramental liturgies. They serve the principal celebrant so that his focus is on the liturgical celebration and not on the many details that the altar server takes care of in the celebration.
Our Lady holds periodic training for new altar servers. Interested parishioners must be in the fourth grade or older.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Ministers assist the priest in sharing the body and blood of Jesus with fellow parishioners. This is done during the Eucharistic liturgy, communion and word services, and visits to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and homebound parishioners. Extraordinary ministers are called to do so in a prayerful, humble, and respectful manner. Open to men, women, and youth of the parish who have received the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).

Flowers & Decorating
For the love of Jesus and the beauty desired for the place where the Eucharist is celebrated, flowers and decoration of the Church are our focus.

Greeters – Hospitality Ministry
It is our honor and privilege to welcome every person who walks in our church’s doors. Our goal is to greet people with smiles, providing physical and spiritual guidance so they may be at ease and experience the presence of Christ within us as they become a part of our community.
The ministry of hospitality is open to all—men, women and children—who would like to welcome parishioners, visitors, and others to our church. The commitment of time is approximately 20 minutes before each weekend Mass served. No regularly scheduled meetings.

Jesus is God’s Word incarnate, but God’s Word is also spoken through others and through our lectors as they proclaim the Word in the assembly of the parish family.
Open to men, women, and young adults interested in proclaiming the Word of God. Participants proclaim the Scriptures at Mass on a rotation basis.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help supports four choirs: A traditional four-part mixed-voice choir, a more contemporary ensemble accompanied by piano and guitars, a children’s choir, and a bell choir. Also included are cantors who lead the assembly in song and proclaim the Psalms and Gospel Acclamations at each Mass.

Ushers at Our Lady are among the first to welcome parishioners and visitors to Masses each weekend. They assist people in being seated, take up the collection and escort it to a designated location for safekeeping, coordinate the Presentation of Gifts, distribute bulletins, and help with overflow crowds, among other responsibilities.
