Counseling Services

Roman Catholic and Christian Counselors offer faith-based professional counseling services to Our Lady of Perpetual Help parishioners and to our surrounding community.

All counselors are licensed by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board and combine standard clinical counseling practices with the beliefs, practices, and spirituality of our Church to provide a thorough and Christ-centered approach to healing. 

Many health insurances are accepted and reduced fee schedules may be available to those who do not have insurance.

Counselors at Our Lady have a dedicated office which is used only for counseling services.

Edward Luersman, MA, LPC

Edward Luersman has been approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Edward holds a Master of Art degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Ohio State University and entered the Professional Counseling field after several years working in the wholesale and retail plant nursery industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Health Management from The Ohio State University. He is passionate about offering validation and support through counseling, helping clients attain healing and wellness, and assisting clients to find deeper purpose and meaning in their lives. His central clinical focus includes emotional support for infertility and miscarriage, spirituality, and men’s issues.

Ashley Daugherty, MSW, LISW-S

Ashley is approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Supervising Licensed Independent Social Worker. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.  She received her Master of Social Work degree from Walden University and her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Dominican University. Ashley specializes in working with children, adolescents, families/caregivers, and adults in many areas. Ashley has worked in the school setting with adolescents that have behavioral and educational difficulties and has extensive experience in working with trauma as well as with abuse survivors.

Honor Worthington, MA, LPCC

Honor has been approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.  She is a member of the C.G. Jung Association of Central Ohio and the Ohio Counseling Association.  She received her Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Counseling from The Athenaeum of Ohio, Mount St. Mary’s seminary of the West in 2006, and is a certified Spiritual Director.  Honor has practiced in a variety of settings, including Community Mental Health, Private Practice, and with The Counseling Source, providing mental health treatment in local nursing facilities.  Honor is a person- centered therapist, whose experience includes working with adolescents through the geriatric population. “I utilize a variety of disciplines, including but not exclusively, CBT, RT, REBT, DBT, and Mindfulness training, that are tailored to the individual’s concerns enabling the most effective treatment for each person.  Whether you are experiencing individual, family, relationship, educational, or stage of life issues, I can help you to develop and utilize strategies designed to use your strengths more effectively in reaching both short and long- term goals.  My degree and training certify me with competency in counseling to include your individual spirituality.”

PERSONAL

Honor comes from a large family and is one of nine children. She is married and enjoys a large blended family of 7 children and 7 grandchildren.  Three of her children, and one son in law, are active members of the Military. She is an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and has served on a variety of ministries throughout her adult life. She enjoys outdoor activities, including; jogging, biking, golf, swimming, and gardening. She loves learning and the Arts.
