Hello! My name is Jason Gale and as many of you know, my wife Emily and I have four children, and though we are not native to the Grove City area, we have made this community our home since retiring from the military in 2018. Since our move we have been humbled by the gracious embrace that the parish family of Our Lady has given to us. We love you all and thank you for all of the kindness shown to us!!
Now as our country moves into an arena of uncertainty and fear I believe there is no greater time to call on the men of our parish, especially the Dads, to step up and face the enemy that is knocking at the gate with steadfast prayer and support for each other and our families. The domestic church is one of the greatest treasures of our faith and through it the Light of Christ is fostered and sustained, shining through the darkness to a brighter future. Over the last few months, I have felt directed to establish a prayer/support group for Dads. This group’s single purpose is to give Dads the support needed to become the Father that God intends them to be. We will utilize group discussion (virtual and in person), adoration, prayer time, and hopefully in the near future events that will include our families, such as family baseball or kickball games etc. to encourage and support the Christian mission of Fatherhood.
Dads often can feel alone and overwhelmed as we attempt to navigate through the list of demands that daily life throws at us, and without a support system we often fail ourselves and our families. We truly require other Dads to support and pray for us so that we may become more fully available to our families and lead them to the Love of our Savior.
I offer all men of the parish who are in any way a father figure, to participate in this group. We will start through the use of a “GroupMe” forum due to COVID restrictions and then establish in-person events as soon as we are permitted to do so. All you have to do is download the “GroupMe” App from the google store or the Apple store and search for the Group “Courageous Fathers.” Request to be added to the group and I will respond to you. If this method of joining does not work for you, please call or text at 740.236.8456 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is no cost to join this group, yet we have everything to gain. Please join with me and become the Dad God intended you to be, and together let’s change the world by loving our families!
