Night Prayer 11.15.20

Posted On: Saturday, November 14, 4:30 pm

We will again be having Compline (Night Prayer) again this month! Compline is the final service of the day in the Christian tradition of canonical hours. It is the prayer said before going to sleep each night. It involves 30-40 minutes of sung prayer consisting of hymns, psalms, scripture readings, petitions, and The Canticle of Simeon (also known as nunc dimittis).

Because we’ve had such a great response so far, we plan to continue Compline on the third Sunday of every month! This month it will take place tomorrow, Sunday, November 15, at 9 pm in the Church Nave. It will be sung by a small choir in a darkened church, lit only by candles. Those who come to pray need not feel any obligation to participate in the singing, but are encouraged to use the time to find a moment of peace at the end of the day, listening to the sung prayers and communing with God in their hearts.

This event will also be live streamed! Join us at the button below.
