Festival Update 8.7.21

Posted On: Saturday, August 7, 7:38 am

We are within a fortnight of the festival, and now is the time to sign up to volunteer if you have not done so. You can volunteer in one of the many areas that are displayed on clipboards in the gathering space. Plus, the online form is up and running on the Festival Website for those who are adept in navigating the online maze. Your help is crucial to the success of this community event. We made good progress this week, but we still have over 400 slots that need filled!

Raffle tickets are still a hot item! You can turn in your raffle tickets in the gathering space as well as pick up a supply of extra tickets. You can also mail them in or drop them off at the parish office. The third Early Bird winner of $100 is Stan Kistner. Congratulations, Stan!

We are blessed to have received over $35,000 in sponsorship commitment, plus an additional amount from those who have donated goods and services. We are very grateful for their support that will make this event more presentable and contribute to its financial success. The updated list and level of sponsorship is at right.

The entertainment for the festival is in place, along with a new entertainment stage that will be assembled by Wanner Metalworx. It features Tom Cash followed by Danny and the Linders on Friday evening, while These Guys Live will be the main attraction on Saturday evening.

With respect to food, it’s like asking Grandpa Jones on Hee Haw, “Hey, Grandpa, what’s fer supper?” The response is food from Schmidt’s, Mi Tradicion, and Skyward Grille; plus Iacobucci’s Wood Fired Pizza, Three Brothers Diner, Donato’s Pizza, and our K of C offering a value meal. As an encore or appetizer, there will be carnival food such as elephant ears and cotton candy. “Yum, yum!”

Once again, this weekend you can beat the line at the festival by purchasing vouchers for the festival rides and kid‘s games. You will be able to do so in the gathering space. The voucher, sold for $20, can be redeemed to receive a wrist band good for one night of unlimited rides.

Lastly, Silent Auction items are arriving, and it is not too late to donate. You can see a number of the packages that have been assembled by going to the Festival website. Diane Walker is the Silent Auction Queen, and she can be reached at 614.271.7555 or walker199@ameritech.net.

The festival will be held on Friday, August 20, and Saturday, August 21, from 6 pm to midnight. Come one, and come all!
