Hello Parish Family! He is risen!
I wanted to reach out to all of you and let you know how proud I am of our parish family. Easter was definitely different this year, but I know from the photos and social media posts that you all entered into the season as best as you possibly could. It was great to see our whole diocese come together to celebrate the Triduum.
Remember that it is still Easter! The beauty of the Catholic Church is such that we have a whole season to celebrate the most joyous event that ever happened. I encourage you to continue to celebrate in your homes. Use the fancy dishes. Eat dessert. Keep your decorations up. Make your home prayer spaces festive. The season of Easter lasts until Pentecost, which is on May 31 this year. We all need some fun and joy in our lives right now, so I encourage you to really embrace this celebratory season of Christ’s triumph over death.
We seem to be in a holding pattern now. Different models are projecting different peak times for this virus, so we don’t yet have any return date in mind for when the churches might open back up. I encourage you all to keep building your domestic churches. Our staff will be continuing to post resources and links for you to help grow your faith at home.
Another initiative that our staff has been working on involves reaching out to every member of the Parish to check in and see if we can help in any way. Many of you should have already been contacted. If you have not been contacted yet, or if you encounter needs at any time, please don’t hesitate to contact Marti Hurd at the info provided in this post.
We will continue to follow the directions of our bishop and our government. Remember, we are in this together. Please let us know if you need anything, pray for one another, and continue celebrating Easter!
